Colaborando Juntos/CJ: Provides a local forum for an active and informal consortium of nonprofits and government offices that helps the Spanish-language speaking community with education, legal, family and economic development issues and challenges. Launched: Summer 2005
Community Relations Emergency Communication Network: Provides a communications network and opportunity for promoting dialogue and understanding around disaster prevention, preparedness and response, especially amongst metro Richmond’s diverse residents. The network is operated by the Community Relations Committee, which is part of the Greater Richmond Chapter of American Red Cross’ Disaster Management Team. Launched: Summer 2007
ConnectRichmond ASIA: Serves as a virtual center for sharing information about Asian cultural traditions; Asian-American business, entrepreneurship, science and technology; Asian studies and issues; Asian civic engagement and leadership development; and the Asian global marketplace and Central Virginia Asian-American marketplace, resources, opportunities and communities. Launched: Fall 2005
Cultural Plan: The plan will seek to look broadly at the importance of arts and culture and to identify ways to improve the awareness and support for this essential element to our community. Cities across the nation have developed cultural plans that guide the promotion, planning, development, and funding of their community’s arts and cultural organizations. This plan begins to create collective vision for the arts and culture of the Richmond region, in order to send a clear message to our supporters and to the community that the region’s cultural organizations are working together for a common goal. Emerging Leaders Network for Housing and Community Development: Supports and cultivates young leaders within the housing and community development industry. By encouraging networking among young housing professionals within the public and non-profit sector locally, regionally and statewide; encourages relationships between established professionals and young professionals within the industry; and educates the next generation of leaders and expands awareness about the challenges and opportunities that exist within the industry. Greater Richmond Early Childhood Development Coalition: Provides a local forum for the Greater Richmond Early Child Development Coalition (ECDC), which brings together members from organizations as diverse as family day-care providers, health providers, our local PBS television station, child-care centers, resource and referral agencies, county health departments, state social services, funders, members of the faith community, university personnel and more to provide an avenue for developing and sustaining partnerships that will enhance the quality of early childhood development. Health Resources: This list provides a social network for individuals who share common goals and interests related to patient care, local health issues and resources and public policy. Launched: Summer 2006
Hot Topic Issues: Currently in development, this email list will encourage debate about local "hot button" issues, serve as a vehicle for "Calls to action," and strive to promote healthy community debate about issues facing the metro Richmond region. Housing and Homelessness: Provides a local forum to serve four purposes: (1) to inform organizations and individuals about Homeward and homeless and housing crisis issues; (2) to organize efforts to coordinate and end homelessness in the Greater Richmond area and beyond; (3) to provide monthly updates of the work of Homeward; and (4) to provide an arena for sharing local, regional and national information on the homelessness/housing issue. LGBT Interest: Provides a communication network to keep Greater Richmond informed of events, activities and important news within the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community. Launched: Spring 2008
Partnership for Out of School Time/POST: Facilitates networking and sharing of resources and knowledge for POST members. POST's mission is to improve the accessibility and quality of out-of-school-time programming for school age children, youth and their families. Currently, the coalition is working on identifying training needs of after school staff and networking with other providers in the Greater Richmond area to improve the quality of after-school programs. Senior Resources: Provides a local forum for individuals and agencies serving the needs of senior citizens and their caregivers in Central Virginia. List members share information and communication that facilitates awareness, discussion and collaboration on programs, funding, events, conferences, employment opportunities and research on issues affecting senior citizens and their caregivers. William Byrd Branch Preservation Forum: Provides a statewide forum to support the preservation efforts of the Association for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities, founded in 1889 to save Jamestown Island, the nation’s oldest statewide preservation organization. Launched: 2003
