Richmond Community Haiti Relief Efforts

Below is a list of Richmond opportunities to get involved in the relief efforts during the aftermath of the recent earthquake in Haiti:

  • Helping Educate And Revitalize Through Technology (HEARTT), Inc. is taking medical and construction teams (late summer) to Haiti to assist with the relief effort. People can e-mail to express their interest and they will educate on the process to go (no experience necessary for the construction teams). Contact Shirley Crawford at 804-304-8819 or hearttinc@gmail.com.
  • Commonwealth Catholic Charities is recruiting foster homes to assist with the displaced and orphaned children from Haiti. If anyone is interested in becoming foster parents for these children and would like more information, please contact BeBe Tran at 545-5949.
  • VCU Libraries has created a blog with resources about Haiti and the relief efforts.

If you know another local individual/organization providing non-monetary relief for Haiti, send us their name, contact info, and what they're providing/how people can get involved.
