PRIMARY FUNCTION 
Program Leaders are important to our staff and a vital part of delivering quality programs to our members. These part time positions range from 15 to 25 hours per week.  
 
Program Leaders work afternoon and evening hours (between 2:30 and 8:00) Monday through Friday and between 8:00 and 6:00 during the summer  
 
Under the supervision of the Program and Unit Director, the Program Leader has the responsibility of providing daily programs, services and activities for Club members which are consistent with the organization’s youth development mission and goals. Program leaders also supervise members and develop positive, productive relationships with members. 
 
Program Leaders are responsible for the following: 
 
 Planning and implementing programs for 6-18 year old youth. 
 Helping with our Power Hour program (homework and tutoring) 
 Providing guidance and supervision to all members of the unit. 
 Designing special events and activities throughout the year. 
 Driving members for special activities or outings as approved. 
 Collaborating with community organizations. 
 Keeping accurate records of attendance and participation. 
 Providing leadership and encouragement to youth to develop their self esteem. 
 Leading group clubs for members. 
 Enforcing rules within the units. 
 Working with volunteers, parents and club members. 
 Attending training sessions and workshops to increase job knowledge and skills necessary to perform responsibilities. 
 
Duties will include the above mentioned description and specifications as well as the specifics programs assigned to each Program Leader.

• Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of programs and activities for youth 6-18. 
• Training and experience in teaching programs to children, planning and conducting special events. 
• Desire and ability to work with children and increase their academic skill level.  
• Demonstrated ability in supervising children. 
• Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics. 
• Ability to deal effectively with members’ discipline problems 
Position: Part Time
Salary: 8.00 / hour
