| THE ACTIVE HAND Ministry | | Mission: THE ACTIVE HAND Ministry ( TAHM ) is a charitable 501 c 3 grassroots, community organizing, organization registered and exempted by the Federal government and the State of Virginia. We are not a church! The word ministry is defined as a means, agent or instrument for change, and we invite you to become an active part of changing the conditions in your church, community, families and self. TAHM 's mission is to empower the impoverished, marginalized, people by training leaders as community organizers who shall promote unity, address common issues, and seek to solve community problems by getting people actively involved in changing their own spiritual, social and economical conditions within the Greater Richmond area and surrounding counties. TAHM believes the future of society shall be determined by the quality of leadership taught to our youth. THE ACTIVE HAND Ministry provides such leadership training through our “Choose Respect” program, utilizing Virginia Department of Health issued tools to help our young people, ages 11 to 24, to improve their quality of life in society and their families by teaching them how to choose a healthy verses unhealthy relationship during their teenage dating years.
